An Around the Way Girl with Remarkable Flare!

Robin Staten-Lanier, Owner & Operator

Robin is a venturer at heart, just the type of individual to take a leap of faith in becoming a hotelier. Not just any hotel, an ultra unique luxury boutique hotel made from re-purposed shipping containers. The five suite hotel is designed around luxury, ease, wellness and sustainability. A hidden jewel within the city, Tiny Urban Escapes is a haven for urban dwellers, suburban folks, locals and travels: a place to abandon life's daily grind and get away from it all.

When asked about the individual behind such a creative an extraordinary idea, she responds,  "I'm not certain if I've ever been ordinary, I wore a faux rabbit fur coat in the fifth grade that I begged my mother to purchase for me from the Goodwill. My older sister hated it and thought is was embarrassing. I think back and laugh at those little things that have always made me uniquely unusual, I guess somewhat extra-ordinary." Robin is among a new generation of hospitality leaders, female hotel brand owners/creators and innovators.

Tiny Urban Escapes has partner with Glasshaus Living the designers and builders of the containers. "It was an organic partnership," says Robin. "They saw my vision and helped bring it to life."

Tiny Urban Escapes is a member of Design Hotels™  which today represents and markets a hand selected collection of more than 300 hotels in over 60 countries and more than 200 destinations around the globe. Design Hotels™  focuses on the people who make  member hotels so extraordinary and who create the imaginative spirit that shapes their brand.  They select member hotels, with distinguishing factors –  originality in its concept holistic concepts, location, architecture, design, local integration, corporate ethics and – most importantly – the people behind the concept and their commitment towards their hotel.
